The Eyes Have It Art Contest Contest Entry
I drew/painted this work with soft and oil pastels, mostly colored pencils (the eye), all on Strathmore paper size 11" by 14", taking several hours to complete, including blending the skin lighter, darker. As we know the eyes are the most important feature in both people and animals. Emotionally, they express: softening when showing love; appear hardened when expressing anger; widen with fear; narrow when suspicious or questioning; squint sometimes to see better; they may roll when annoyed; and bring forth tears when sad or hurt. The eyes provide wonderful sight for all areas of life, as well as sight into the matters of the soul. Hope you like my side view of an eye.
