This piece captures the protective glare of the male lion as the female lion nuzzles him, showing her affection and love. I incorporated my father's eyes into the eyes of the male lion as that expression of love, pride, confidence and dignity has always been something about my father that I will never stop missing. The original is 11x14 ink on bristol board. From first dot to final shading, this piece is done in ink. The permanence of ink to surface is symbolic of my philosophy of life. If we make a mistake, we have to work with that mistake to make it flow into something beautiful.
