A beautiful photograph of this lady slipper. And I must admit I have not seen a yellow one. However, the clarity is not as sharp as it could be, and focus is not quite as sharp as it should be.

Thank you so much. I'm only using a reading glass and I can see the hairy part as well as the lines. Anyway, from my perspective it is so sharp that I actually wanted to soften and decrease exposure. The resolution is also high I have to really resized this to comply with FAR. Appreciate the comment.

Hi Soulfeeder, I've only seen the yellow Lady Slipper one time before in a photo posted here. I have never seen the flower itself. You were so lucky to come across this! You did a beautiful job capturing the shot. The excellent lighting and focus really show off the flower! I can see the wonderful texture of the flower. Very nice photo and an excellent image for the contest! Good luck! :o) Nancy

Beautiful crisp detail at the rear of the flower where each petal has hair . The lighting is just a little strong causing a loss of detail/hotpots in the center of the image. With such a dark background I am guessing this was taken in a 'studio' environment where lighting was controlled. Other than the lighting - a great image . Well done.

Thanks for the pleasant review, Phil. From my screen it is not bright at all. No, this is not taken from the studio. Appreciate the comment.

Very striking yellow flower against the black background with striking detail as well, good one for the contest although do prefer that flower shots were just used for flower contests but see why people use them...Brian

Thank you so much for this pleasant review. I did not see any limitations in the rules, so why NOT. Just a thought.

your welcome, and your right of course my only thought on it is there are plenty of flower contests, but can see why flowers are used because of the color aspect of it

A very lovely photo presented here. The black background is the perfect way to highlight this beautiful flower. The yellow shades and textures of the petals create a vibrant and amazing visual. Well done!!
