Beautiful and with personality. This one has something to say to the photographer! LOL. Love the texture of the feathers, and the clear, focused eyes. This is a great portrait, and shows the bird off perfectly. Nice work!

wel this is one comp. i definitely will not be entering willie as this looks too good to compete with-im seeing red alright looking at this fabulous offering with such vibrant colouring & excellent detail with a pleasing background colouring to contrast well with the cute expression of this little fella-shows your skills & technique off very well-good luck for the comp.!

Interesting. I like the contrast of the red beak, black face and red feathers. Incredible detail. The bird almost looks frightened. I would have liked to see what was surrounding the bird.

What a good entry to the contest. Just love the mowhawk he is sporting. Great focus and detail even his little red tongue is showing. Like the crop and the fine detail in all his feathers. Great shot.

Very nice closeup of this cardinal who looks like a "Punk Rocker". I live in Florida & you just don't see any Cardinals here. The best I can do are red-winged Black birds, & an occasional Robin, aside from the wonderful water birds we have. Thanks for sharing. Grammysandy
