OMG! What a close-up shot. One can count the feathers. It is amusing to read that males are dandy and the females are just the opposite! This is a beautiful bird photography. Thanks for sharing.

This is a strong close up.Colours are natural looking. What background there is, is nicely diffused. I think you may have overdone the contrast as the feather are bitingly sharp and look a bit unnatural. Mitch

Another great macro shot of a cardinal by Willie. I am beginning to think you specialize in these shots. Great focus. I am unable to give you a higher score because FAR won't let me, but I just want you to now you deserve it.

Fantastic detail in this subject. The shot of the eye is very clear, and can even see a sunflower seed in this guys beak. All the feather details are perfectly detailed. Nice one.

This is a stunning image with superior sharpness and lighting. The one thing I'm not sure about is, if you should call this a macro.

I think the image itself is exquisite, but I think of macro as a wee bit smaller than your subject. I would call this a stunning close-up
of the cardinal's head.

If the focus was on the eye only, in a tight sharp focus, I would call that macro.

THis image is definitey HIGH caliber, but I don't feel it's a macro shot! I LOVE it otherwise! :o) Helvi

Nicely done. I saw one a lot like this one not too long ago. Not sure who shot that one. Good composition and focus. Well done.
