Thank you very much for your kind reply and your input. This is not a photo; but a painting in impressionist style. It is supposed to be blurry. I painted it this way. Sorry if my style disappoint you.

I love this Cleo. Such a romantic composition. The candle light dancing over the piece is warm and inviting. What a wonderful Christmas painting.

Nice work!
I really like the look of this! I have received cards that look like this! This says painted green and I do see green but this would be better for a Christmas contest. Good luck!

Thank you very much, I appreciate your review and your oppinion. It would be indeed good for a Christmas Contest, But there isn't any art contest with a Christmas theme.
reply by willie on 08-Dec-2011
that is a good thing about F.A.R. you can create a contest to suite yourself! Hint!
reply by the author on 08-Dec-2011
I just created a contest. I was lucky and won a price so I had some money. Most the time I don't. I can't sign up for all I like or promote my entries. I am to slow with writing reviews, replies and answering replies. Beside creating a contest to suite myself makes no sense to me, but that is just my oppinion. It makes no sense to me. It is neither a challenge or fun when it suits myself. The best challenge is when it dos not. It is the best way to try new things and to learn. I do not post in a contest because of the price. I post because of the competition and what I can learn from other entries. But we all see these things differently, and I understand your point. It's just not for me. But I will create contests, just not to suits me. I fell better creating what I think is fun for the FAR members or is unusual or could improve the diversity or quality of our work and the site :-)

This is so beautiful Cleo. Gosh, I wish I knew how to do such things. The colors are so appropriate, and the flames are perfect. What a warm, wonderful feeling this would give on Christmas morning.

Thank you! I am not sure ypou really want to do that. I work between 50 and 80 hours on a painting of this size. It's just like painting on canvas; but without splattering colors. :-)
reply by wallypete on 08-Dec-2011
Well, you could pretty well figure that how ever long it took you, it would take me 3x at a minimum. You obviously paid a dear price in time, but wow, what a reward.

I don't know if you would. I am a slow worker. Thank you again :-)

You've captured the feeling of Christmas very well in this digital composition. I like how you've placed the candles and flames. Very nice use of colours and shapes. Very good composition.

Looks wonderful to me Cleo! The lighted candles are amazing and realistic looking! The flames are stunning and can almost see them flickering! Lovely colors and certainly enough green here for the contest! Best of luck dear lady!
