Lovely bird in flight photo! This has everything but the tail!! Good composure, very sharp and first class exposure. Like the fact that we get a good look at the delicate wing structure. Very good shot, well done!

Oh Willie; how close can you get? This has got to be the best close-ups yet. Grand detail captured! This does not have the appearance of a flash photograph. I am very impressed. Your shutter speed was so good that you nearly stopped all of the action/movement of the wings that move so rapidly. I am just in my all over the quality of this shot. Great job sir!

Sigh. What a beautiful shot of a female hummer up close. Love the exquisite detail, the unusual crop, the eye clearly detailed.

Another well composed photo of the bird, the lighting is just right and I like the see through wing effect. Great focus.

Fantastic shot of this little bird in flight. Great colour, contrast, clarity and framing. Love the background colour. It's so hard to do this! I tried with some seagulls hovering and they simply wouldn't keep still for me! (Great expectations)I found afterwards that where I thought they were in the frame they weren't. Altogether disappointing although I did get one reasonable shot of the lot. Cheers Frances

I love this piece and all the work you do plus the bonus educational value as well.
Looks like a statue with this head shot and frozen wings. The reflection in the pupil is enchanting.

I agree this is a nice closeup of this tiny creature. I like your technique of a separate mount for the flash. Makes the camera much easier to handle for a long wait. :-) Nice freeze frame on the wings too.

Thank you so very much! The flash set on the trypod is to direct the flash where you want it. I use the monopod to hold the heavy camera and lens. Sometimes I sit there for a couple of hours! That will get your neck and shoulders sore.

Amazing close up shot on bird photography. Great focus on the eyes of this bird, yes, if the tail was seen then this would have been awesome pic. Still the DOF and framing stands out in the picture. Great shot!

Perfect, crisp focus once again by Willie. I didn't even to look at who took it; there's only one guy in FAR who takes macro photographs of birds like this. Excellent exposure and composition too. Overall, super work!
