wow what a super duper photograph. nearly looks like a painting. The marking are so incredible on his body. I have been to a few of those butterfly enclosures and they all fascinate me. I could fill in a whole day in one. this deserves a 6

I do not know the species either, however, it sure is a pretty one all very well focused, framed and with a nice exposure. Like the dark background and greens to really make it pop. Top shot.

The Great Chase ended with a great shot. This is a very beautiful butterfly. The clarity and color is great. The green foliage is a great pop of color. The closeup of this butterfly fills the shot with great patterns.

Perfect focus and a wonderful Point of View with the capture of all of one wing and a nice size piece of the other.
Framing is wonderful with the nice tight crop.
Background is a great backdrop and is very well matched up with the main subject.

You say you have not done anything to this shot apart from remove a distraction, but this image looks so much like a painting, rather than a photograph. That usually happens when levels are used to adjust colours, saturation, etc. No matter because I happen to like the effect. The butterfly is quite beautiful and I do not think I have seen this type before. Shown in profile the viewer sees a great deal of detail. The bright green of what looks like some kind of pine or fir tree enhances the image. Good Luck in the contest.

It could be that I had the wrong lighting on for the setting of the picture. I'm not aware of doing anything else.
