Did you use gesso as a primer? or titanium white acrylic paint? Just curious as the luminosity of the eyes is exceptional and I´m envious of the quality found in the eyes. Such ideal painting of umbers and ambers is most pleasing to the eyes. Love it! Ffeathers and beak are nice,too, but the eyes are so special!

So, this is what he looks like. You have nailed the eyes. They appear to be staring right through you. The shading of the feathers is great and there is a feeling of a soft fluffy texture. The beak is well illustrated and has a slight 3D effect. Well done and good luck in the contest.

You have done a masterful job of creating the eyes on this owl. I think the most incredible part of an owl is the eyes and these are beautiful. The detail, color, and depth to them is remarkable, with the gleam of very real eyes.
