I think this illustrates post traumatic stress disorder well. To me the black eyes represent the void that has become his mind and the stars inside the flashbacks he is experiencing. Great illustration.

Tremendous illustration on the subject of PTSD Mark. It shows the state of mind of a man scared, behind the hollowed out blank eyes of his past. I was in Nam, and I also came home to working in the prison system where many veterans with undiagnosed PTSD ended up in those day. I saw the damage first hand.
