Yankee Doodle Dandy, and three plants to boot. What a wonderful patriotic post. The feeling of the scene swells my heart with Patriotism. The exploding bursts as the background mirrors what is happening outside of my house as we type. The music festival is winding up and they are shooting off fireworks.

I like all the stars and fireworks, great 4th of July. You could paint a little Canadian flag and wish us Canadians Happy Canada Day, first of july. Again, great work, love the band.

its a cool idea...about a year ago they had a contest called "what it means to be canadian" being i am french canadian decent and was invited to participate, i submitted "canadian country". strange enough i won the contest and i was the only american there..go figure..get the time do a FAR search for that and let me know whatcha think..ill think on a new one..thanks for the great review

Don't know what is going on with FAR, I joined for a year last November, and after I wrote the review, started getting messages that I have to join as a Premium member, and will not let me do anything else. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Again and again you amaze me with the personification of human qualities evident in the expressions and activities you have your daisies doing and to think all you use are cardstock and sharpies! I love the patriotic theme to this piece reminiscent of the leaders of the American revolution as they marched into battle led by the flag holder, and to the melodic beat coming from the lone drummer boy and the haunting tune emitted from the flute (or fife back then). The black background enhances the red, white, and blue fireworks exploding behind the daisies. I also love your attention to details such as the fact that the flag only has 13 stars to represent the original colonies and the hats worn by the daisies are the type seen during the time of the American Revolution. These little touches really enhance the era established in this piece. The way the leaves of the daisies are used like human hands lends a charming quality to the daisy characters. Excellent use of linear lines showing the individual petals on each daisy, in the stripes of the flag, and the details on the drum. This pop art is so human like in its depiction that it deserves high praise. The color composition is complimentary and vibrant, drawing the viewer's attention to the intricate details. Well done again! :-)
