He certainly would not win a beauty pageant, but your capture of this earwig is excellent. Good sharp picture of the flower. Now questions. Is that his eye, and what is the white line that seems to be coming from his face. I hope I don't have the insect back words.

I like the colors in this photo, but i don't like the bug. Don't get me wrong, you did a great job on the photo. Your focus, framing, and lighting are all very good. Bugs in general just creep me out, most of them anyway :) Well done! Despite my discomfort around bugs, you did a wonderful job with this photo :)

Gidday, I have viewed this a few time and it is a unique image, I have never seen a Magenta earwig before, matches the colour of the flower and BG, very well camouflaged. Dave :)

Never heard of this insect in my entire life. Is he really purple?
Your lighting is a bit bright here (in my humble opinion)and it is really hard to make good reviewing decisions. I'm sure the original looks much clearer.
Thank you for sharing

Fred,
A great picture of the Earwig crawling over the Gerber Daisy. Beautiful composition, lighting & framing with superb camera techniques & razor sharp focus showing us the finest details of this rapidly moving insect.

Sounds and looks like a neighbor of mine. Interesting color. Is the purple natural? Very nice close up. Cheers, JR.

A bug I really don't like is quite lovely in this photo. The earwig takes on the same colors but the sight of those pinchers in the back remind me of how often I dealt with these bugs as a kid. Lovely color and framing. Nice shot.

The earwigs not are my favorite between the insects, but, this is an excellent shot, with nice color, good texture, and sharp focus, very interesting notes, too. Good lighting and frame. Well done.

A pesky critter found over here too, colorful view, focused and framed. They sure can crawl into the smallest locations and really freak my wife out.
