Nice photo of this earwig in the center of a zinnia flower. This is a bug I've always disliked because of its appearance. They just look scary! ha They are indeed very common and we seem to have lots of them at my house. One thing I learned though, I didn't know they could fly. I've never seen them do that and didn't even know they had wings. Interesting! A nice photo to show this guy off very well. Like it's tiny black eye that is visible here. Good macro shot.

WOW what an information and capture, For sure a hyper macro as when they are believed to crawl into human ears they must be very small I heard about that but never saw one - so your shot again is a classroom shot with much picturesque information - handsome how this insects adapts to this bloom in color and shape , our photographic eye is beyond to see this in mini in the wide environment is fantastic
your focus and exposure are spot on, excellent contrast and lighting , a harmonious picture in clear range and composition, well balanced with the nice negative space from the petal - a wonderful shot deserving a 6(empty pocket) thanks for sharing

Interesting notes. This is an exquisite pic. Beautiful colours, sharp focus of the subject. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

Great shot and a close up view of the insect. It is the complimentary colours of violet and yellow that makes the image very attractive.

This photograph has some lovely and unusual colour contrasts with its purples and yellows. The earwig is rather handsome in that it is wearing the same-coloured purple suit to go with its surroundings, or is its body reflecting the colours?

i heard of these nasty creatures. i remebered the old tv show "rod serlings night gallery" did a show of this lil critter and the thought of it makes me wanna scratch my ear...but alas like u said that is just a myth..still makes me wanna scratch my ear..great capture of the critter. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the bug on the flower is great. the capture of the light is great. nicely balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. great eye and great job overall(clapping)

This horrible little insect is even more horrendous close up, It is amazing the things you are told when young that stay with you for ever.

My pleasure. Meant to mention these pests have eaten all my roses.

Maybe a bit too much lavender which is taking away from the view of this interesting insect.
The pinkest background represents overkill on this piece. But that's just how the colors grabbed me in this review.

thanks again; will try to find one on another flower

The flower was ok, I think an adjustment on the background color (almost any other color) for contrast would have done the trick. Everything else was great supergold .
