this is such a beautiful post. like some of the old masters like (the very great) turner, that turns (excuse the pun) the background into an emotional feeling. in this capacity, even a simple focal (in this instance a barn) can be role reversed and used almost as a backdrop to the whole scene. you have perfected using the nostalgia vibe, without the baggage of overt sentimentality. going back to turner, like yourself you understand how to apply and blend colours; though at the time they thought turner as completely mad (haha)! for me is clear cut expression. i'm pleased cleo that you brought this one back up and deserves some worthy attention.

It is a great honor for me being compared to Turner. I always admired his work. I like the term "turns the background into emotional feeling. I myself cannot paint or create photos and mixed media without being emotional inwolfed.

I can't believe this is a digital painting! I like your color pallet and the riot of color in the background mimics a fall day. The barn is perfect in this piece and a hint of water in the foreground brings your eye to land there. Nice work!
