You don't often see these guys in trees. It is good that there are no leaves on the tree, but the intervening branch is a bit awkward. Nice colors and fine cropping.

I think this is a nice close up. Looks like he is on a nap break. The blue sky adds to the picture and makes it pop. If I look at it long enough it looks like the tree and the bird are against a blue wall. Great job!

Your notes are a little bit confusing to simple minds like mine. I am thinking if the view from below is better then why is Mr. Heron not perched on a branch under the water instead of one over the water? I know that sounds stupid, but that is just the sort of guy I am, i.e. it can`t be helped. As for your photo, it can`t be helped, either. It is divine. Don`t change a thing!
