I like how you balance your composition on the space. I was wondering why the branch looked like it was dripping then I read you caption saying that it was the effect of an ice storm you were capturing here. Although the branch looks as if it is coated in ice the icicles you lose me amongst the cherries. The cherries could use a bit more hi-lighting to give more an appearance of being frozen. The chickadee is very well done.

Thanks for the nice review and high rating.

The cherries may or may not be frozen, but the ice storm created icicles hanging down from each berry.
At least that was what I saw out of my window.

Nice composition, I like the way the red pops from the background. Nice ice formations too :) The yellow on the bird gives me a slightly awkward feeling against the background colour, not in a bad way though it just seems kind of out of place some how, probably the way the bird felt when he tried to eat those berries :)

I would have never considered a lovely bird to be similar to the quality of a new day, but I understand how you might do so. It is a hopeful element in an otherwise frozen and dying scene. Lovely colors, nice matte cover of hard surface. Nice delicacy with the brush strokes. Lovely composition. Hopeful, bright, positive... something one might want to look at day after day.

What a sweet little chickadee and you captured him beautifully! I like the composition
and contrast of red berries with the color of the bird. I'm not sure if the background
choice of color does it justice? Is it a little dull? I'm really not sure because the overall
picture is very nice,
