In all of the years I have been here I think this is the first photo of yours that I have seen.
It's a great entry for this contest.I really like this close-up and the angle of the shot.The dof is excellent and it brings out some amazing textures.The simple background and good lighting works well in the creation of this contest entry.

For some reason, I like rusted objects. I have a couple of items that I can't wait for them lose all their paint and rust.
Nice find on the subject matter. Nice tight, macro shot. Can see the small grains of rust.
I like the contrast with the lighter, and plain background. It makes the clasp stand out.

The originality is very good with this being quite a unique perspective of something rarely pictured. All technical aspects are good with use of a light source that gives the subject some DOF. You have done a great job framing this leaving no vacant space. You have used no excessive contrasts keeping this in a good aesthetic sense of something old and rusty. Good luck in the contest!
