I really like this painting, it's hard to believe it's oils and not watercolors. There is a translucent quality and softness that is usually found in Watercolors. I am in awe. The composition is good and light and shadows are wonderful. I love how you captured the light on her hair and made it seem smooth and shiny, but also unkempt. The shadows under the arms leaves no question; their position seem to reaffirm the mind set of her expression. Just wonderful. Thank you for sharing this. God bless your talent and generous nature.

I have looked at several of your works over the past two months and seldom had a comment or impression to share, but gladly, I can easily comment on this work. It is super good. Worthy of a 6 any day of the week. The absence of color in her face or the washed out gray tones, speak volumes when the lips are so vibrantly red and speak silent volumes. Then one sees red go dark in the tones in the hair and one knows immediately that you were so very much aware of color, despite its absence and all the talk of grays. I would say the work is powerful in that way, and then the rest of the form complements and contrasts extremely well. In short, I love it! It think it is the best work that I have seen from you in two or three months. Of course, I may have missed some that were even better... hope not. Regarding, sending along congratulations on painting a remarkable work! Go get em!
