This painting is very good. The pose of the model is a great pose. How long have you been painting? What is you favorite painting medium? I see this is in oils. I loved to paint when I still had use of my skilled hand , but after having surgery on my left shoulder it left e with nerve damage in my skilled hand (left hand,) so now my art s all done on the computer. Waiting for my 6's to come back! Wonderful oil work here James, excellent lighting-WOW~! Dramatic and highlights well placed for maximum 'punch'! If only people knew what went in to an oil like this, they would be standing and applauding! This reminds me of a top notch studio study! Who said your work is boring?! Everything is new and fresh! As you say, jealously perhaps? Love it! jean

What an uneducated remark from that person, but most don't understand what a review is and how to separate personal subjective thoughts from the objective. Your chosen palette is sophisticated and much more complex than some may realize! jean

you are so right jean a lot of photographers dont understand how or what we have to do to mix some colors and not only that make them work is even more difficult once again thank you so very much

I am hoping to promote a piece shortly, I was thinking of you when doing it because you appear to do a lot of wet-on-wet (alla prima) oil work and it is not easy! I mentioned in my Artist's notes that I mixed my own colors just like you do! I want the viewers to get a bit of an education too especially when they are not traditional fine art artists! jean

thats really cool cant wait to see it i am working one right now going to start the background now hopefully it will be ready to show tomorrow i find myself making corrections with the paint as i go do you ever do that ugg it drives me crazy

I usually paint with acrylics, so not the exact problem, but more often than not I paint as I go along. THe one I just did and posted "Talking it Out" I did 'alla prima" and I have a hard time keeping the wet on wet technique from getting grey and brown!

well it`s not boring at all....on the contrary, really expressive....I love the model`s pose, weird and erratic, yet giving a compositional balance...great work :)

I like the easy way you have painted. Looks effortless but a lot of thought has gone into this! This is a beautiful painting. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!.
