Blue herons regularly visit a city park near me so I have photographed them many times and the ones I've seen do NOT enjoy being close to humans. So congratulations on getting this splendid photo, beautifully composed and with very appealing colors!

These herons are often so comical looking with the wind blowing their feathers. They have such a look about them that says "what is it you keep looking at!!!" Love the composition with the black background and greenery in front of the heron.

Wow Initial impact on this photo for sure. Gorgeous technical thought excellence put into this photo. Everything is sharp and crisp! Point of interest are the blues on the heron and the yellow beak. I love the dark background of greens and the depth, makes it mysterious. The light captured on your photo is exquisite and shouts out to the viewer. Grasses are a beautiful accent to the photo.
