Oh and I have to take a guess here, and I'm stretching it with this guess, but I bet your from Michigan? could be wrong but my psychic ability is telling me that some how I believe that you are from there or life there now? my crystal ball isn't always right but its normally pretty close LOLOL

Stunning detail. Nicely centered. Excellent shading of the background fading into dark. Blue is a calming color so that fits the entire concept. Lovely puppy. Great angle/perspective. Hardest part, probably the eye and/or the paws nicely done, likely many hours of work.

Thank you Equine for such a wonderful insightful review and the rating is a huge added bonus. And yes those paws were difficult and there are a lot of flaws still there but the more I worked the worse it got so I had to stop and say okay that's it LOL.

Ohhh, I KNOW all too well about those little flaws and withdrawing abruptly before one more stroke ruins the whole thing. I once had a SUPER photograph of me on my horse, except the horse had blinked that moment and the eye was shut. I decided to paint in the eye, but the eye lashes were "killing" me and I wanted more shine in the eye. I painted and undid *undo-button, painted and undid for at least 2 hours until the eye was ruined. LOL

I have seen the photo you are talking about, and you have for sure given credit to this truly sweet pup. I am sure Dick will love this painting. I even think the painting is more lovely than the photo, because you had the advantage of creating a new background. You could not have picked a more lovely color than blue, and I like the gradient of it as well.

The pup is painted paying excellent attention to details, and I especially like how well you have managed to bring out the textures of the fur and a shine in the eye. The brush strokes are so light and refined.

Also the composition is working really well, and I like the tight framing. This is a truly lovely and well crafted digital painting though and through.

I never see my work as finished and will work something to death but its reviews like this that make me realize when it's finished, leave it alone LOL. thank you Patty but my question is you gave me a four an 1/2 instead of a five, what did you see that needed some change? I really am not that concerned with the rating, but any constructive advice is always helpful. If it weren't for those who would tell me what they saw wrong in one of my works I'd never be where I am today. You ought to see some of the garbage I posted when I first started here, didn't have a glue what I was doing, but people always helped with guiding me in the right way. so pleas let me know what you saw wrong even if its' minor, it is always helpful. I appreciate all your kind words and always am thankful for review. thank you again

thank you so much PattyQ for your input. It is always helpful when I get someone else opinion , you may see something that I didn't. Luckily with digital art you can always change the background, so I gave it a try. Dick Lee Shia likes the original but please always feel free with your input. If it weren't for other artist like you I wouldn't be anywhere where I am today and to me my work is never finished. I can't thank you enough for your help.
