I agree with the sentiments of the Title!
Out of interest why have you classified the image in the "Nature Photography" category?
It's not a particularly good quality image, but the content makes it a good record shot, and an excellent entry for the "Industry/Industrial" comp., showing as it does a good example of industrial pollution which ravish our environment.
As the top sky is very light in colour it tends to draw the eyes (it's also very pixelated)
Consequently, I would crop more off the top, (even including a slight bit off the top of smoke on the rh side) to remove the light area, and have the really dark smoke going out the top rh corner, thus leaving more for the imagination! You can see the end effect of such a crop by using the main slider whilst looking at the Enlarged image above
Well seen and captured!

Yes it's damaging & dreadful you'd wonder how they get away with this amount of Air pollution? Beautiful composition, framing & soft lighting the dark silhouette in the fore grounds seems to cry out too! taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I remember seeing something like this on TV when they caught the oil fields on fire and I saw the military men could not hardly see a thing when they were walking through them. I know this is probably the best that you can do with this photo but it does bring back some memories. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. JackJr.

I reviewed this a while ago but was lost in transit again!
Aptly captured for the contest theme... Impressive capture of the pollution brought about by this highly industrialized nation & the effect it has on its citizenry.
Mans doing is his undoing, so to speak...
Subtle illumination. Good perspective & long depth of field...
Thanks for sharing...

certainly not this one: I took many pics, during one hour;
in the previous one, the smoke starts from left and right and join in the mddle.
many thanks again Dick

Hi there,
What a horrid sight indeed. Our delicate atmosphere is grows increasingly asthmatic and would one day begin to cough blood whilst Mother Earth's soft skin is scarred and pitted. How long will they last? Thanks for sharing your thought provoking image. R
