I find these kinds of images among my favorite. Old doors like old windows are the keepers of so many stories. That's why I find them so fascinating...

* clear center of interest - outstanding

* image composed well - outstanding presentation/framing of your main focus

* outstanding technical quality: detail, exposure, color, contrast

* outstanding story-telling quality

* outstanding post-processing: great textures realized through your choice of enhancements

Kudos:)

It looks as if the building is even older than the wooden door. The door seems to be put in handy work by someone needing shelter, but never really was fitting the given stone frame. What I like specifically are the exquisite captured textures of the stone and wood and the monochromatic look of the natural sepia colors with just a hint of red and green paint at the door

Yes they have both seen better days! Now together though they make an interesting subject for photography!! Your frame filling composition attracts a viewers attention and there is easily enough enjoyable detail to hold it. Well done!

I've seen a number of times people here using Topaz effect and still an unsure what it does to a photo?? Perhaps you'll answer me??

Post production is marvelous. Poster lines though? What has that done to your photo??

Really wonderful composition....framed just right....light...focus all just right as well.

You've taken a rather dilapidated door and old stone walls look very attractive.

Very nice work.

Very beautiful. How you managed to make a door this attractive and without a lot of color is hard to imagine. Extraordinary detail and clarity here. This is definitely old Europe.

Oh my. This is simply a gorgeous scene. I am so attracted to the tones you have chosen Annie. The details and the gentle touch of red makes this so very attractive. Just so well done. The bad news is that I only have a six to use for the review. That does not do this justice but it is the best that I can offer. Would have it framed on our wall. With your permission I will make it a favorite in order to at least view it often. Very well done Annie ~ Steve
