A fine capture of your Sweet Boy Jackson. The pose is actually one all dogs make when they are watching something of interest or hunting. The classical point is a dog very intense, standing motionless, with the nose thrust forward at the strongest scent, with one front foot bent up.
My Chihuahua does this too.
You have nice exposure, focus and placement within the frame.
I would only like to see more light on his eye.
Nice shot of your dog in the Point Stance.

Excellently captured at just the right time. Well done Lise. Great exposure and lighting. Perfect positioning with a little lead room, adds to the image. He's attentive interested in that squirrel. Excellent DOF.

Well one Lise

What drew me in to view this was the way it is composed. It's a lovely composition and I love the way his one foot is pulled up, the sign of a good hunter. He is a beautiful dog and you show this with the great technical execution. Another thing that I really like about this is the lighting and shadows. With that said, I wish you the Best of Luck in this contest~

Those red squirrels are quite aggressive and will easily chase away much larger gray squirrels and even fox squirrels. A very nice shot with beautiful colors and a great pose.

Your dog Jackson is really a handsome guy, and it is easy to see that he is on the hunt the way he is posing. I really like how well you have captured the alert look in his face, and also how well he is standing out from the background. Another thing I like a lot with the photo is how the light is falling on the dog and the rocks.

Your photo is also nice and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in every part of the dog, and also the exposure is spot on.

The photo is well framed and Jackson has got a perfect placement off to the left given room to move into. I think this is a really lovely and well taken photo of your dog, and with a very good DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.

ah thanks so much,,it was just a fluke because trust me on this he was on the look out and on the move,,but this is his famous pose, I always watch his alertness and for this pose, last year at 2 months old he saw a bear and did this very same pose, which alerted me to it so we back away pretty quickly.
