Fantastic Photo. Skies not bad maybe rain but you have done a wonderful job! Well centered, shadowed and details are perfect. Great and beautiful rocks. Greenery's around castle and on rocks are very nice, and trees below wonderful. In all, Picture perfect and wonderful eye viewer.
Thanks for showing.
Congratulations and Good Luck.

A beautiful picture of Edinburgh Castle standing proud on Castle Rock overlooking the city below, under a mackerel sky & framed by trees on either side of your frame. Artistic composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Talk about karma! I was just watching a PBS show on the castles of Scotland, a country I am dying to visit. What a great shot Annie, I am so jealous! You have framed this majestic beauty quite beautifully. I love the view point you took it at.

Framed, focused and very nicely timed this is a beautiful photograph Annie. Though I am not a fan of HDR here it brings out all the nuances of the castle.
A confession... I have taken almost the same photograph or at least from close to the same spot. I like yours better as your use of the trees gives perspective, a sense of scale and dimension.

Impressive info notes...
A panoramic landscape accentuated by the cinematic capture of this imposing & regal castle!
Good perspective & long depth of field...
Naturally framed by these verdant foliage.
The sky complemented the antiquated appearance of the main subject.
Interesting & visually appealing.
If I may suggest, I would crop a bit of the foreground to really make it off centered (vertically & horizontally) so as to give more space on top.
Just a friendly suggestion though...
I know you have a reason for presenting it this way...
Thanks for sharing...

A very exceptional scene Annie. Well framed with the trees and the centrality of the castle. I especially like what you did with the coloring and textures. It has that old Masters look which perfectly sets the mood for this scene. very nicely done Annie ~ Steve

I would not want to be one of those attempting an assault on this stronghold. A beautiful shot with excellent detail. I like the framing trees and the oppressive sky. The colors are excellent and the history is fascinating.
