thank you for your time in reviewing and then writing the critique on my photo. yes, the complimentary colors do work well in this image, eh cooler colors in the negative sauce really help push the poppy's oranges towards the viewer and to me helps make the poppy really stand out. again thank you for your support, I am honored by the rating it is very much appreciated.

Nice and simple flower picture, with a beautiful strong color - your perspective form the bird view position allows us to look into the very center of the bloom
your picture is clear and sharp, excellent in contrast and lighting, perfect in DOF and exposure, your frame is well chosen and the background color lets the bloom stand out very well

Nice and simple flower picture, with a beautiful strong color - your perspective form the bird view position allows us to look into the very center of the bloom

A very nice sharply focused image. The colors and textures are spot on and the flower is nicely centered. The depth of field is just right and does not detract from the subject. Best of luck in the contest.

I really like the photo in general. The lovely flower fills the frame. The color is great. I took off a half point because it almost seems that it is almost over exposed. You have lost the details in the flower petals. Try reducing the contrast to bring out more of the details in the petals

the contest allowed no editing, it is as it came out of the camera. I think that the pedals look good, as do the stamen and have depth and show good detail.
The complimentary color scheme is really nice and the cooler colors in the negative space push the flower's warmers color scheme, the flowers shapes, towards the viewer.
