Smart lions sg...I wouldn't want to mess around w/ these massive Mamas! Wonderful notes here btw.

I really like your panoramic framing here sg. AND the fact that you haven't included any 'partial' elephants. Colors are true....nothing overdone and focus looks good even though they are obviously photographed at a distance.

Nicely done.

Deborah

Magnificent. There isn't any other words to describe this photo. Elephants in the wild. Unbelievable. Just seeing this in real time must have been exciting. If I was to say anything about this. You could tighten up the photo by cropping the two elephants on the left and one on the right. But that is just me. This is mag. 6 rating.

A beautiful shot of a rarely seen natural behavior. I like the panoramic cropping which emphasizes the formation. Best of luck in the contest.

What a fantastic opportunity to see something like this in the wild. Something I dream of seeing.

I love how you captured these guys in formation for safety. What an impressive herd.

I love how you cropped this one Fred.

The story you are telling here is really interesting, and the elephants actually look like they are ready to fight. I can fully understand that a sight like this would scare off the lions. To really show this scene well I think you have picked the perfect format to present this photo.

It is also very sharp and even if the elephants are seen at some distance it is possible to see really clear and well defined details. I also think the exposure is very good.

I like the way you have placed the row of elephants in the upper part of the photo given them room to move into. The photo is also nicely framed and I especially like that the frame hasn't cut out parts of any of them. Indeed a great looking and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

I Like the story of clash of clans in your note. That was why this elephants looked so serious. They were to save their clan. Focus is good.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of the Elephants lining up to face the Lions & protect their young from potential attack, the strong sunlight beaming down upon them in an atmosphere with "Sparks flying" though not seen. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
