I really like this image, the shallow depth of field works well, as does the sharpness of the foliage below the flower. I think that cropping it a little tighter at the top would have made it a bit better.

I love these flowers and am hoping that the ones in my garden returning from last year will flower once again this spring. I like the way you have blurred the back of the flower keeping the foreground sharp. The subtle hues are lovely. :) Mary

This photo captured my eye and it's story was very endearing. Sometimes the rare flukes make the best compositions. The misty colors are beautiful against the pine-like leaves. The contrast of dark to light is so well balanced. I am glad you decided to photograph this little one of a kind flower, it is very well done! Thank you for sharing!

Breathtaking!!! I had to look at this close up. It is hard to believe that this is a photograph without some digital work done.

Well he's a winner in my eyes and it is the wispiness of the way you handled your dof that makes this image. The background spikey petals dancing towards the heavens but are diffused, how perfect is that? Sharpness of petals, pointy peaks yet diffused and soft - that is a win win situation that plays with our eyes.

Format is good and I wonder if it would have been better in square format?

Love the hues of blue in the background that support the main flower.

Top notch. You get my 6 and I am really stingy with my 6's.

MOST definitely flattered Olga. For some odd reason it took me a while to decide if I liked this photo....just not sure why either. I did consider a square format but didn't want to lose the marvelous ferny feel of it's leaves. At any rate, thank you for the wonderful review AND the extra sparkle you shared w/ my little mutant.
