Very delightful weird scary blue flower so unusual that it almost doesn't look real. Love the way you bought out the colors in the photo for they reach out for you and pull you right into the frame. Thanks for sharing this lovely photo.

Oh if you think THIS is weird RuJP you should see what the seed-pod looks like once the blossom is gone!! Appreciate you checking it out and sharing an extra star w/ it. Thanks so much.

This is beautiful! I love its color and design. It is almost transparent blue. Unique and very enjoyable. Focus on the part to emphasize is good. Framing is perfect.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Oh my, this is visually stunning, the initial impact is WOW! What a happy accident, I believe it was meant to be and here it is, blowing us away with its incredible beauty. Super DOF and the soft background doesn't take away one thing from the stems and the stamen. The petals seem to come to life and the way you showed the soft top of the petals and the colors/veins of the underside are typical of your vision, different and thoughtful. To top it off, you selected just the right amount of border and this may be my favorite of your recent work. Thank you for your vision. Sharon/Bea226

A mutant you say,Deb?
SUPER COOL! :)
It certainly is an intriguing looking specimen and the blossom's striking Ice Blue coloration and the interesting 'chevaux de frie' like look of it's foliation lends it a wonderfully Alien look!
'Bon Spectacle',my friend! : )

A mutant is correct Sean. Actually wouldn't mind a bed-full of these guys but have never had another one like this. Thank you so very much for the wonderful review and for sharing an extra star w/ my little odd-ball. I do appreciate both.

WOW this is one of the most wonderful flower shots I have seen so far and I am a flower freak - fantastic capture, I specially love the hyper sharpness upfront and the mystic softness at the other half of the bloom - a super macro camera settings - excellent angel and position, perfect focus and a perfect crop- I also love the fine green enhancing the scene

a very lovely bloom, well presented with perfect contrast and lighting, awesome color harmony and handsome initial impact, thanks for sharing

I've never seen one of these in my life. It is so outrageously beautiful. I love the points on the petals, the color and the spray under the blossom.
It bloomed for you just so you would snap a photo.
Wonderful work.

Wow Deb. You just keep getting better and better. This is such a great rendering of this already beautiful flower. I especially commend you on you after photo work that sharpened certain petals and essentially gave a paint like effect to the rest of the flower. The spikes are such a great contrast to the subtleties of the flower. Very well done Deb ~ Steve

I'm afraid my editing program does not allow for selective sharpening Steve. lol...just got lucky when photographing this guy. I do appreciate you checking it out though. Thank you so much.
