OMG--this is awesome! Mark, thank you so much! I am so behind (pun-haha).
This cold/flu kicked my butt (OMG another pun). Okay, seriously, I may not be able to use this, like I hoped too before I move, but I may not be done with the story until the new year. This is perfect for my story, though. Love the nature hues--love the flames! Thank you so much my friend! You have a great New Year--don't party too much!
Good luck in the contest! Let me know how you do! :)

This reminds me of the Biblical Adam and Eve. The fire causes me to think that these two characters have to go through hell (Biblical Hell) in order to reach or ascend to reach enlightenment (or Heaven, depending on your beliefs). I interpret this piece to say that in order to ascend to an enlightened state, we have to go beyond the earthly hell , to learn, etc. in order to be awakened. I could go on forever! I love this piece. I could actually write a paper about the topic presented in this picture. Great job. Thank you for sharing!

A most peculiar rendering of hope. I like the long shadows and the hot colors that seem consistent with the valley of flames and what could be more visionary than a magical air conditioner at the end of the path?

Yes rasmine is a very good friend of mine--one of my closest friends this year.
Are you muted too?

Well, this is aptly captured for the contest theme...
This couple in their birthday suits still believe that at the end of this fiery, winding, elevated road is a golden gate to utopian happiness!
An impressive artwork rendition. Colorful creation with excellent strokes & textures. Good compositional style. Great overall impact! Thanks for sharing...

Looks to me like the modern versions of the Adam and Eve story and of Dante's Inferno. That said, it is right for the contest. Seems as if the couple found a relatively save pass through the flames. Of curse they do not need close. It is hot enough there. I appreciate your attention to detail. I think each of those flames is different as well as those obsidian mountains.

Love the colors and theme. I always wonder why there is always an uphill climb involved? I just has foot surgery and can't walk at all right now so I guess I'm a little touchy. I do wonder why just once can't it be easy to have Faith and believe? Love the flames and deep crevices in the mountain path. Great job as always.

so I take it that you don't feel that the illustration expresses that its not an easy road in life to stay on the straight and narrow? wink. well that's what the writer wanted..did I fail or is it your foot talking? ..wink wink..lol. thanks again for the good review
reply by Denise B on 26-Dec-2016
Well, if there was fire as in your image, we would probably stay on it without fail. Hummm...

a very nice creation, MKFlood,
a Great picture of the 2 as they walk a fine line to get to the gates of Heaven.
as the flames look great as you have some heat signature as well. great DOF as the gates are at the top but looks like a long journey. great job getting 2 in one. good luck. thank you for sharing and hoping for a good new year. thank you.
always,
ron
