    Hi Dx,
yes it was a different morning seeing 3 types of birds I never seen before.
glad you enjoy the early morning as I make my way back to the shore.
I will try to as I just cropped it as the sun is to it's back for the most part.
thank you for your insightful review and take on it as I still did not know anything about the settings yet.
thank you for your nice review and continued support as I try to learn.
    always,

what a strange looking bird! he's positioned well, the rock stages him as at the point of a triangle . his coloring looks like he''s being spotlighted, thanks for sharing. Range will know what it is.

    Hi paulah,
yes to me it was different as the morning started with that nice colored sun as I walked most of the way out on the jetty.
yes the rocks of the jetty have moved but a few spots that have more water and less rocks as you see behind it they go out further as it looks like it just popped out a few minutes earlier as there was no drops of water coming off it.
on my monitor it is a yellowish body and the wings partly pink as the chest seems like fur of a penguin.
thank you as I know what it is now but not as white as they say it should be.
thank you for viewing and your kind review.

hi, the bird does not need to be 'white.'

    Hi paulah,
to me looked those colors but other say they are white and need to be taken in Manuel op. as I have not learned it yet as I hope to get a spring class for both photo / comp as I had comp.
    prog 32 years ago. :-)
but went into the trades as I already had that background but fell behind with res. training so could not catch up.
so a bit tough typing with one finger as I catch up .
    wishing you a good day.

I don't think we should be made to feel we should be using photo shop if our creative sense and concept don;t indicate so to us.

look like a penguin had mated with a kingfish..lol. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of the wild looking bird by the water is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

    Hi MKFlood,
I hope you are doing well and had a nice vacation.
it is funny as to me herons are tall except for babies.
as I wish I was fast enough for the other strange one as I watched my step but it flew out of the 4ft crevice real fast and was very agile.
glad you enjoy it as it was early in the morning as the sun started changing to a brighter yellow.
thank you for your kind insightful review as I decided to put it up not knowing what I had captured.
thank you for your insightful kind review.

Well if this isn't the most unusual bird I have ever seen. He stands like a penguin, looks like a baby egret and is genuinely mystifying. I hope you get the answer. He is awfully cute.

    hi Mama Mia,
yes I was about at the mid point on the jetty on the Barnegat light side as the sun rose behind it.
yes it is funny as I like the small stature it has as it looks like a diver from height like the black ones but forget there name.
as that was the only bird I would see diving or diving down for a minute or so before popping back up.
yes I read the answer getting up but went to my med site first as the lower back has the pain level high.
thank you for viewing and your kind review.

I wish I knew what this bird was, I have seen most Florida shore birds, but have not seen this one there at least.

I like the composition a lot. Rule of thirds on the bird, the rocks are a nice background.

The rating was based on a less than sharp focus and somewhat of a burnout on the lights.

Thanks for posting and I hope someone can ID it for you.

    Hi allnoak,
i'm in mid south jersey but a first in 39 years to see as it must be more of a ocean bird.
thank you as I cropped it a little but was about 6 ft away from it as it did not mind me being there.
as most herons are pretty tall except for the white ones when they are young.
thank you for viewing and your kind review.

a great find, but no idea what it is;
but wait, Sange will certainly identify it;(maybe you send her a messageasking to help).
good late afternon lighting; focus a tad too soft and oversaturation resulting in blown outs;

    Hi Supergold,
yes it was as I just missed a yellow type of heron that was in the rocks of the jetty but heard me and took off.
yes she did, as she says it should be white as it looks yellowish and pink on the wings.
as the sun was still coming up as the sun was to it's back in the shot.
as this was taken with the end shot of the inlet and before the searcher 2
it was not 7 am yet as the sunrise started about 6:15 am as this is about 6:45 am.
as the sun is manly to it's back as the sun rose on the other side of the inlet.
I did not think it was blowout as the sun was low and changing color as I started back to the lighthouse.
thank you for viewing and your kind review.

Nice capture of your mysterious bird. Your format is good with good placement of this bird in your photo. Nice capturing natural light and shadows and depth. Your focus is sharp with well defined details. Well done! Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Stringbean,
yes it was a puzzle to me as I saw 3 bird types that early morning never seeing them before.
it was funny as it just sat there and did not fly off like the first on that was to quick for me.
glad you enjoy the positioning as the morning started as it was just after the morning colored sun at the end of the inlet and
before catching the searcher that same 20 minute walk to get close to the lighthouse.
glad you enjoy it as at least I know what it is .
thank you for viewing and your kind review.

    Hi GaliaG,
I hope your day is going well,
it was a first for me to see the black headed/back heron as I missed the other strange one that was in the rocks of the jetty as some have spread pretty wide over time.
glad you enjoy it as it looks yellow with pink in its side wings as the sunrise was behind it.
as it was 4 shots before the searcher 2 summers ago.
thank you for viewing and your kind review.

    Hi , seshadri.
it looks like a swimmer to catch it's food or a dive bomber.
it was funny it did not move at all as I was so close to it.
I guess but the fish did not start to come in or out with the tide as high tide left but the rocks where still wet. thank you for reviewing and your kind review.

Well.... I know... but I can't remember - sorry. Just looked at my files to see if it popped out at me... didn't. Great capture here of this fellow but... a bit on focus and a bit on exposure. (1/2) I find these fellows not too frequently but love the capture when I do. Wonderful placement in the frame - maybe next time!!! :-)) Thanks for posting!!!

    hi momentsofjoy,
I hope you can remember as I have fished fro a long time and saw 3 different birds that day never seen before.
it looks good on my monitor so decided to post it as it is a odd one for me.
I have been to the inlet many times but was a first for me.
I will see if I can get it clearer as the sun had a good shine on it. thank you for viewing and your kind review.
