Beautiful colored pencil rendering, Raoul!! I love your palette of colors, the edgy persona portrayed as well as that beautiful fiery red hair so full of unbridled life. Love the dual colors in the glasses lending unique perspective and depth.

I admit just looking at the drawing, I was repelled because I could not see her eyes behind the glasses.
I had to look with my magnifying glass to see that there was more then two different colored lenses. I saw two contradicting landscapes. After reading the poem, I understand the metaphor and symbolism. The ever present of the opposites, the light and dark of human nature. She is the personification of the feminine, a goddess in modern attire for the narrator of the poem. The colors, the pose and expression of the woman are the perfect symbols for the poem.

Very seductive artwork. I like the red hair, yellow corset, necklace and black top to go with the multicolored sunglasses. Great detail and color in the artwork. Very nice work.

Nicely done picture. Amazing what a little color and graphite pencils can do. Very detailed..... I like how you used red to pop out in the picture.

Wow.....I am totally mesmerized by both your artistry and your poem here. The art I have been studying and looking at for quite awhile now.....I know it has been over 10 minutes because the news just started and the clock is 12 minutes after 10. This is done really well. The red hair mangled and the corset cinching her waist and the paleness of her skin meaning she does not go out in the sun at all....WOW...WOW...WOW...WOW.
Excellent.....perfect for this contest. I wish you all the best at the voting booth....BUT PLEASE.....do me one very important favor.....In your artist's notes add a simple sentence indicating the date you completed this drawing. Without a date, your entry will be disqualified. Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up, Schatzling. I have now corrected my error. And thanks too for spending such a while looking at this :) R

Wow, dinner and a show! Love the poem that goes with the artwork. I would love to know which came first the idea for the poem or the painting. The colors are well chosen for this scene. I love the background color and how it is similar to that of her skin. I think that works well with the idea of her being "mere air". Love that hair color! Works perfectly with her character.

Your style is unique and most of us here know the artist behind pencils. The Good And Evil shown in her glasses..the downfall of all.. temptation and greed.
Excellent details, colors, thought provoking message through your art as well as poetry.
Love the colors and the message and feelings this evokes.
Fine work!
Good Luck :)
