Sounds like a perfect summer day to me!! This is an excellent capture.. Your exposure is perfect. Even your shadows in the forefront that have created the silhouettes have added to the perspective of the photographer and the dof...literally. :D The city scene in the distance is so well captured in clarity that it is a dramatic contrast to this beautiful green ball field. It almost makes this overall composition move into the abstract...with the geometric shapes in your upper frame seeming to evolve from the circles, arches and diamond shapes among your mowed angles. Your crowd has added the pointillism to a painting. How is that for removing the actual meaning of your subject and transforming it into art? Easily done here...with your outstanding camera techs.
A complete pleasure to view and imagine being there. The last live pro game I attended was so hot it was impossible to even keep your beer cold... ! :D Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for making this image much more fun than I thought it was. We happened to win this game in the bottom of ninth with the bases loaded and the batter being hit by the pitch. Odd way to end a game, but we will take it!

You are most welcome, Allan. Those early years of drafting a 60x40 residential lot just stick with me... LOL! This is an awesome capture. And sounds like a good memory to be had when you view it. I do feel bad for the pitcher.....our oldest daughter was a softball pitcher in H.S. She has some great memories and some not so great... I really enjoy this pic! Thanks for sharing it. ~Rebecca

A great snapshot of this baseball game in full swing (excuse the pun, we don't play it over here in the UK!), taken in superb lighting and capturing a huge spectrum of detail with amazing clarity and DOF, right from the spectators right in front of your POV to the almost graffiti like skyscrapers in the background - the lighting is superb and shows a huge range of colour and variety that I could ramble on all day about. The core of my review is that this is an outstanding photograph in my opinion that encapsulates as much man made visual stimulus as there is to offer - an extraordinary photo and best of luck in the competition! :)

A great snapshot of this baseball game in full swing (excuse the pun, we don't play it over here in the UK!), taken in superb lighting and capturing a huge spectrum of detail with amazing clarity and DOF, right from the spectators right in front of your POV to the almost graffiti like skyscrapers in the background - the lighting is superb and shows a huge range of colour and variety that I could ramble on all day about. The core of my review is that this is an outstanding photograph in my opinion that encapsulates as much man made visual stimulus as there is to offer - an extraordinary photo and best of luck in the competition! :)
