Very interesting narrative and incredible history of the photo. Beautiful scene of the abandoned
village. I can see why it is a tourist attraction. Love how this was built on the hillside. Very interesting and informative.

Ideal image for a travel shot this and the birds add a nice distraction,would have liked a closer image,but as an overall image it works,also looks like a painting slightly in this...brian

Looks like you had a good scene to photograph here, so I am wondering why you did all that editing? Your final piece looks very much like a painting to me! Was this the final look you were striving for? All in all though a very nice work! Well done!!

    Thank you so very much for the lovely review, and it is not so much editing as it sounds like. I always edit my photos, unless it is for a contest where it is not permitted.

A wonderful, fairy tale like shot taken from a fantastic high vantage point, with brilliant clarity and fantastic long DOF, showing exceptional detail throughout the whole piece, regardless of distance. The greenery on the hillside in this strangely semi derelict Greek town/village is thick and lush as it creeps up to someday soon reclaim the town (or try!), and the rundown old mini castle like structures tower but with fragility as they look down to the coastline and vast blue ocean below. In the distance the rocky and barren peninsula like areas of land jut out with a fog descending, drifting into the nearly cloudless sky and blend into the horizon, with only a flock of birds visible over the light. An incredible piece, one of my favourites ever on FAR, and I've got a feeling I know who took it - but can't wait to find out either way. Great piece and best of luck in the competition! :)

Very lovely photograph. I love Greece and Santorini even more. I love the soft pale sky and faded clouds in the distance. The composition work well with the sloping hill. There is a mystery to this photograph and it makes you want to travel there. Great work.

nice capture. the angle of the shot of the buildings on the hill with water and sky view in background is great. the capture of the light is great. the clarity is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

a cyber six for this outstanding view of this village like coming out of a fairy tale; amazing architecture and beauty; I think you could crop more of the unnecessary sky in order to have a much closer view;

Nice image of a classic Greek hill town.
I like the captured Aegean beyond.
The line from the sea to the hill creating a diagonal movement is very cool.
The clouds on the far right seem to indicate a change of some kind? Perhaps weather or economics or political?
The only thing is the light is rather flat. There is not enough contrast.
Also a little cropping of the sky at top would give this a nice panorama type feel which would work quite well with the diagonal line.
Nice job!
