Nicely done humming bird.
The orange flowers coupled with the orange throat provide a nice symmetry and balance to the piece.
The overcast sky cutting the horizon is a nice foil to the dense color of the foreground.
The delineation reminds me of some 19th century works actually.
It has a rather nice historical tone.

A lovely painting in an old fashioned style of this cute hummingbird gathering nectar from this red flower. The proportions are superb and accurate, and the detail and colour on both the plant and the hummingbird are carefully painted and with intricate detail, set against the subdued colours of the green grass and the blue sky which accentuate it further - a great piece, best of luck in the competition! :)
