like the engraving and the crack, did you use a flash? Appears like maybe, good clarity and filling the frame, nice picture, a suggestion, if you use an edit software maybe consider taking the line off the wall in back of the crack, think it is probably a shadow, thanks

Nice shot! You never really see the crack close up.
It's interesting that it looks like some type of beetle on steroids ate through it.
I appreciate that you captured the Pass and Stow engraving as well.

A nice shot here of this iconic piece of American history, celebrating and defining their take on Independence. The clarity and lighting is excellent, with good detail showing the writing towards the top clearly, and all the dents and knocks and finer visual features on the outside are shown with precision and sharpness, including a big crack running down the middle, which some blacksmith would have got a good telling off for if he was still alive when it happened! one thing that I'm in two minds about is the close up view of it, it benefits from the extra detail in a sense, from the usual picture of it hanging that you'll see and get everywhere (I googled it and it's basically the same image x800), but the bottom line for me and the reason the 1/2 mark was dropped is simply because as an image, it is dull. On face value you could be looking at a 5p through a magnifying glass; I understand and acknowledge the significance and importance of the item, but to look at is boring, being brutally honest. You've captured it very well and the colour is excellent too, so nice try! :)
