A BRILLIANT Stop action picture of the Hippo "Doing it's Circus Turn" for you as it rises up from the water water gushing out of it's mouth while exposing it's dangerous tusks. They are NOT an animal to argue with! Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I'm heading for Fungalvaz in Portugal tomorrow & will only have intermittent Wifi connection from the Bar next door through the wall..I will do reviews if I can but don't think I can post any photos.

A great shot, brilliantly timed and captured with great shutter speed, pausing the shape of the water flowing off the feet of this huge hippo and it being expelled from the mouth during this bathing session. The lighting and colours are natural and great, the DOF & positioning are both good, and show the waters edge in the background and there is some space in the fore of the pool so we get a good idea of perspective and scale, and just how big these creatures are! A fantastic shot, great work :)

Wow! Thanks for those excellent artist notes! I did not know any of those statistics about the ferocity of this mammal. Your notes are important to explain the actions you have captured here...as they are definitely not very attractive...with the muddy water and the spewing open mouth. Your colors are natural I am sure. Excellent work here. Thank you for sharing and mostly for explaining!

Holy crap! That is a great photo. I would have pee'd in my pants. Those critters are dangerous and move incredibly fast for something so large.
You can really feel the raw power in the image. And he does look pissed off.
