Yes, spiders are beneficial to the balance of natural things. Good capture, though. I think the highlights show the detail quite well. Good work.

I absolutely hate spiders, but it's something that I can not stop taking photos of, especially at this time of year. This looks like an interesting one. I actually like the way that you have used the torch light to get this image. It adds a certain character to the shot. Well done :-)

You are one of the reasons FAR is such fun. You keep your camera close by and take photos of something that leaves a strong first impression on your artistic eye. I love your photos of nature and your surroundings. This is a good success I say at a difficult 'quick shot'. And your artist notes are interesting and informative. Your framing is artfully accomplished..with the dark vignette and shadow of the spider proving your capture is during the night. I love the bit of green in the upper frame and the white is perfect to help with the detail of this guy. Thanks for sharing.

    Rebecca,
Thanks a million for your complementary detailed thoughtful review on this tiny Spider outside my kitchen window. This was the best of many shots. The Spider was on the move & with the poor lighting most of the others were little more than a blur.... The hand touch came in handy after the flash made everything white as I was holding the camera just inches above the Spider. With the touch in my left hand.

Poisonous or not,she looks scary!:) You have shot her well.. The light and shadows, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

Nice photography of a spider in the spotlight is well.Angle of darkness of right side and left side gives the spider moving into the water from upper hard part which having great peculiarity of this picture.

This is a very nice shot. Between this shot and those of Peglegdeb that are taken at night with hand held torches, I think I will have to give it a try. The exposure is very nice and the way the light falls off gives it a natural vignette.

    Mike,
Thanks a million for your complementary detailed review. The flash turned the spider white, so I tried the hand torch .
