What a lovely tight framed macros of this intricate wasp taking a second out on this petal. I really find myself drawn to the selective focus that soft blends out the surrounding as well as the beauty of the soothing yellows. Great lighting.

EXCELLENT Macro of this wasp Mike. Focus is razor sharp on the wasp showing superb details.
Nice soft yellow/ touch of green background and fine Placement within the frame.

Brilliant macro shot, especially of a wasp, which funnily enough I dared to try to capture with my macro, which is basically sticking my phone in it's face - no chance! haha. The clarity is exquisite, showing the finest of details on this evil little pests intricate and really quite beautiful body, once you get past the alien/bug thing. Even the hairs are well defined, and they look just as mean up close! lol. The the yellow (& green) background despite creating an almost monochromatic feel to the piece overall still works well and accentuates the wasp further - fantastic work, well done!! :)

Nice photo. Love the bokeh as it really enhances the wasp. Lots of great detail on the wasp, you can see all the hair and the detail on the wing closest. Framed well. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

When you shoot that close, do you increase the ISO to speed up the shutter? I'm working on this technique. I see no motion blur. Excellent work. Good framing and exposure. Well done.

Thank you so much for your kind review and comments - much appreciated. No - the ISO is 100! Slight post processing to reduce the light background and some sharpening for definition. That's it!!

Your focus is just spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details down to the smallest hairs, and the exposure is perfect.
The format and framing is also perfect and the wasp has got such a good placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
