These beauties are not easy to Photograph. I mostly use my 70-300 lens and it's always windy here so my shutter has to be at 1/2500 and f/stop f/4.5 in order to get that dreamy DOF.
You did a fine job Barbara on focus, colors, white balance and using a blur filter. I like guassian blur where you traced the
background and blur.
Lovely colors and fine camera techs;)

Thank you so much for the great review! I also often use my 70-300 lens to photograph flowers as I did for this picture. It's windy most of the time here, too. I either use a high shutter speed or I get all ready to take the picture and then wait until the wind dies down for a few moments.

Well composed photo. I like the fact that you have not just zoomed in on one flower. The DOF that you have used is very good. I think that it always helps to have a suggestion of the other flowers in the shot. Overall, a very nice shot. Well done :-)

For some reason it is very difficult to photograph this flower, but it doesn't look like you have had any difficulties, because you have captured them so well. I like that a couple of buds are included, and also the faded bloom in the background.
The flowers are standing out sharp and well defined against the softened background, and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in the two flowers closest to us. I also think the exposure is spot on.
The photo is nicely cropped and the flowers well placed within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
