Your lighting technique has really accentuated the color and texture of this beauty. The details of the stem stand out so nicely against the dark background. I like how well you captured the water droplets too.

You already know why my thank you is so dreadfully late Grace but I apologize again anyway. You are a doll for going to have a look at this guy and thank you so much for sharing one of your gold stars w/ it. I do really appreciate it.

I don't feel like your thank you is late. I have been so busy with work that I haven't had time for fun - so I am just now getting to my replies too.

Actually celebrating Thanksgiving with the family today :) One of my jobs is very busy on the holidays. I guess it's Holiday Forward, in more than one way, lol.

I love this Georgia O'Keefe type of photograph. The water droplets are superb and the black background really makes the lovely oranges pop. How fortunate you are to be able to grow them.

It's one of the prettiest beds in my gardens Linda. Thank you so much for checking this one out and I do really appreciate the shiny gold star...matches my crooked little orange Poppy beautifully...lol Thanks so much.

A beautiful, sharp, crisp shot of this bright & bold orange Poppy, taken side on for a different perspective, covered in dew drops that cling nicely to the outside of the petals. A good minimal feel to the piece, with simply green stem, 3 orange petals and a black background. I dunno how you get away with it but it is so clear and artistic it is naturally pleasing to the eye, with great clarity showing the veins and structure of the petals and the dewdrops in sublime detail, as well as the skinny little stem!! Great work :)

'Naturally pleasing to the eye'....what a nice thing to say Ed. Thank you for that. I've told reviewers in the past that the flowers almost seem to 'know' when I'm out and about among them w/ my camera and they simply shine for me.....if that makes any sense. At any rate, do appreciate the really lovely review you've given my crooked little Poppy. Thank you so much.

Informative notes...
Creative concept. Innovative framing approach. Imaginative presentation.

Subdued lighting showing fresh droplets & fine venation.

Darkened backdrop pops out the contrasting orange bloom.

Thanks for sharing...

Serous 6 for this!
7 if we had it!
This is the quintessential poppy photo!
The water droplets ad an amazing and magical quality to the image.
The black perfectly frames the image.
It reminds me a little of a bhuddist monk in prayer.
Brava!!!

LOL...serious six! I like that Trajan. Thank you so much. Once you said that about the Monk I remembered another member who had actually posted an image of a Monk and he was dressed in robes exactly this color so not as far off as you may think. Anyway, I do really appreciate you having a look at this piece and thank you again for the wonderful review and extra sparkle you shared w/ it.

Nature WAS perfect PB until my dog Comanche bent the stem of this pretty little PAPAVER when it was very young...lol It grew up sideways after that....but made for a very compelling image I think. Thank you so much for your very kind review. I do appreciate it.

This is an interesting, very creative approach to floral photography. I am especially drawn to its stunning clarity and how, despite its singular focus, the subject appears to project itself from the image as if a 3D sculpture. Very well done and thank you for sharing.

Coming from you Dieter I am honestly quite flattered by your review. This crooked little PAPAVER just demanded my attention that evening....didn't have the slightest idea that it wasn't as beautiful as it's strong, straight neighbors...lol...neither did I so I do appreciate your very kind thoughts on my image here. Thank you so much.
