I almost rotated it before I posted Marsha but decided I liked it's natural and unusual slant....besides, I try really hard to show my flowers just as they are in my gardens. Always pleased to have you check out one of my pieces and thank you so much for the very fine review you've given this guy.

A very nice bloom shot presented here in a nice and artistic style! Like the contrast between the bright petals and the background. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Nicely done!

This is a really nice shot, and with orange being my favourite colour, this is always going to be a winner :-) I like the way that you have the watched on the petals, which really add to this shot. Well done :-)

I'm curious about the technique here. You have said that you take the photos in low light, but how do you actually light the flower? Is this flash?
reply by the author on 19-Oct-2017
No. I use a couple of heavy duty flashlights (12v battery I believe) to light the area around whichever flower I happen to be photographing. Low tech but I am very happy w/ the results Mister W.

It's very good. May have to try myself..., well in the Spring/Summer when we have some flowers :-)

It's an inexpensive way to add some drama to day-time flowers by photographing them after dark. You'll enjoy it I bet.

No neighbors....no street lights James...I am very lucky to be able to get these beautiful stark black backgrounds simply by photographing my flowers after the sun goes down. Thank you so much for having a look and do appreciate the very fine review.
