The maple leaves are always beautiful in autumn, and the one you have pictured here so well, has really been touched by gold. I like very much the bokeh seen in the background as well, but find the blurred leaf at the top a bit distracting.
What I like the best is how the light is shining through the leaf from behind showing the shadow from a thin branch, and also the simplicity of the photo.
Your focus is sharp with clear and well defined details, and the exposure is spot on. I also like the nice and natural colors.
The photo is nicely cropped and I think the leaf has got a fine placement within the frame. All together a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

A great image. Subject detail is perfect, and just enough DOF to see that this is a natural setting but without distraction from the main subject. Composition and framing of the subject is also wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing.

nice capture oft he colors and tones, just pity the left leaf is cut off, mainly since there is a lot of negative space on the right

I love maple trees in the fall and these leaves are just perfect. The green veining says it is early fall and the leaves are not quite ready to fall. The earthy browns in the background add to the autumn composition.

To me I think taking a little more off of the green blurred leaf (not all) might make it a little less distracting. It jumps out now trying to grab a little of the stop light. I love all of the nice green leaf vein's and the great sharp focus. Also like the background blur. Well framed and overall good job.
