great story and well done you and Comanche for chasing off the intruder ! very brave may i say ! Your presentation of the garden is excellent ...who needs flowers when you've got fabulous trees like these and made all the prettier with the slight covering of snow . Great pic Debs

    LOL. I was thinking that afterwards Neil....hmmnn "I've got a camera....he has a rifle" But I had Comanche and he apparently was afraid of her. You are a peach for having a look at this piece and you're right... No flowers for a few months just makes me appreciate the trees and such all around me all the more. Thank you for a lovely review. I do appreciate that just as much.

Deborah,
A beautiful early winter scene with the show dusting the Pines & clinging to the taller tree trunks where the wind has blown it under a pale blue clear sky. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I love everything about this post. The title, the notes and the scene. You have such an unblemished knowledge of nature in it's truest sense. And I think even though that comes a long with what others may consider hardships in life, you love it for all its worth. Nature that is. As your chosen posts are always full of passion. That is not easy to fake. Yours is real and it shows. Thank you for sharing that with us here on FAR.

Your camera skills have progressed noticeably. The clarity and detail of this scene is not overdone...but complete. Being overdone would create a feeling of busy textures I believe. But you and your camera have chosen a scene that could not be more in sync with every object in it. Even your fallen tree has made this scene congruent in its composition. That one space near the center of your frame, between the two trees and with the whitest snow in the distance, just calls to be enjoyed. Colors are serene and pure...nature pure. There are no highly enhanced greens..even though the fir trees are stunning.

I will look forward to seeing your winter photos to come. And continue to thank you for sharing your efforts with your camera. Would love to see your dog in one soon! :D

    Oh Becky this is just THE most wonderful review. You have no idea how happy it makes me to have you see this image exactly as I see it w/o my camera b/c THAT is what I always strive for in my pieces- to show it exactly as I see it myself. Love that you mentioned the spot you could see in the distance through the two middle trees- THAT is the front of the Apple Orchard.....hard to tell but that single tree you see in the distance is the foremost Apple Tree.

    I will keep trying to get Comanche in some of my images. Finnegan was a very good subject and while my little Comanche is as beautiful she is still a wild little Indian and most of the images I have w/ her in them are just parts of her or she looks like a blur as she dashes by...lol She is two now though and I figure she will start acting more like a big girl soon?? Maybe?? She definitely acted like a big girl though barking and growling at that hunter the day I took this photo.

    Anyway Becky my most very sincere thanks for this review....and for your appreciation not only of my efforts photographing my place but your appreciation of my place itself. THAT is the best part but the shiny gold star ranks right up there too.

a very beautiful winter scene Deborah; there is an advantage but also a drawback to live in such a nice but remote area;

    LOL...so trues SG. ISP guys acted like I wanted an internet connection to the Moon when they came out here to put in new equipment. More pluses living here than drawbacks though....at least to my way of thinking. I would NEVER want to move. Anyway, thank you so much for checking out my new post. Always happy to find you at the end of a review.

Stunningly beautiful winter scene....your place is so beautiful! I so enjoyed reading your artists notes and the storytelling with your image. A nice contrast in your scene with wonderful rich colors of the bark from the trees against the evergreens Your light is excellent and a good composition. This is very nice work....thanks for sharing. A framer!

    It has been an unusually windy November John. As you know it cleaned out my outside internet equipment. Hoping things will be calmer the rest of the month. Thank you so much for checking out my new piece.....I LOVE this spot. Don't think I've ever gotten a poor image when shooting here. Anyway, do appreciate the very fine review.

Beautiful shot! If you hadn't told me this is a photo, I would have thought it's a drawing or painting. Most of my coworkers are hunters. When they ask if I hunt, I say "With a 58 millimeter." The looks I get!

    It's the trophy hunters that really bother me Bill....they kill something just to hang a piece of it on their wall...grrrr. Hunters who eat what they shoot are different....I just don't want them to do it on MY land! Bet your friends are trying to figure out what kind of gun a 58mm is lol

    Thank you so much for having a look at my new piece. I love the images I get when I 'shoot' here in the Autumn. I always get that soft, serene image. You are a dear for sharing a gold star w/ it and I do so appreciate it. Thank you again.

A superb landscape photography marking the onset of cold winter season. I love the atmospherics. Excellent moody colours, subtle colours and balance. Overall, this is an impressive capture! Well done!

    awww...that's so nice of you to say Sean. I'd forgotten what a nightmare it was to get Internet out here all those years ago....well it wasn't any easier this time....lol. That windstorm blew a lot of my equipment out into the sugar woods. OMG what a mess. Had to just start all over again. Anyway, thank you for checking out my first post of the month. Always happy to find you at the end of a review.
