Deborah,
A great picture of this curious buck head turned displaying his anthers standing out clearly helped by the snowy background & Conifer trees. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Oh I think he so didn't care that I was there Catmal. He never moved until Comanche showed up...lol..then he took off. ....and thank you for mentioning that stump. I really wasn't sure I liked it in the image but there wasn't much I could do about it. It was so nice to find this review from you here this morning. You are a sweetie for giving it a gold star. Thank you so much for that Catmal.....and it's good to 'see' you again!

Hello,
This is a good shot. It is going to be rutting season soon, according to his growing antlers. :) Then you can get more shots of the babies and their mom.
I found a typo in your author's notes:
Managed to get just two photos before Comanche caught up w/ me. Deer and dog proceeded to run right through my untouched field of snow.....lol (period) Oh well...at least I got my first image of a Buck w/ horns.

LOL....do you mean b/c I didn't put a period after LOL Rasmine??? Well I not only appreciate you checking out my latest piece but also for reading my notes so carefully. This guy will actually be losing those horns w/in the next month or so...the rut is over now. From here on out they will be putting their energy into making it through the winter. Thank you so much for the review.

I like the composition. Something peaceful about deer and antelope. Nice winter landscape. Nostalgic holiday piece. This is comforting with earth colors.

Hi Pamela. I see you are a brand new member so welcome to FAR. I do appreciate you checking out my newest post. Now- the way reviewing and rating a piece works is this. If you find problems or issues w/ a piece and are going to dock points (as you did here for my piece) at the very least you need to say what those issues were. Ideally, you offer suggestions as how best to improve the piece but at the very least when you dock points you need to say why. I'm afraid after reading your review I have no idea what you thought the problem was w/ my piece.

There's a good section on reviewing and rating. Go to 'Community' in the header and your page and scroll down to 'Q&A' and read the section there on reviewing and rating posts. I hope that helps. I have no problem w/ be given a 'less than' rating but I (and most members) REALLY like to know why. We are all here to offer suggestions and good solid advice to one another.

Knowing how fleet-footed deer are, you were fortunate to get such a fine photo of this grand buck. The snow setting is beautiful, though I would have cropped out the large tree trunk in the foreground because it momentarily fights the viewer for attention.

sigh...yes BC...that damn broken tree in the front really annoyed me when I saw it in my image. Too big to remove though and didn't like the way my photo look if I cropped to the left of it....so....it stayed. Thank you so much for a fine and honest review. I do appreciate it.
