Very nice. I like the direct eye contact and the light in his eyes. I'm a big fan of textures so I am really liking all that can be seen in this guy's coat and the colors. I might have cropped a little off the top to remove some of the negative space, but it doesn't take away from the focus of the deer too much.

You captured him well. So at about a year, they start growing horns? Nice to know. Love the long ears and for-ful eyes. Nice composition, capture and clarity. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

Usually by the fall of their birth year the buck fawns start to develope their "buttons".Mature bucks lose their antlers between Jan-March and soon start growing new ones. This one is a yearling and this will be his first rack. Thanks for your review!

How fortunate you are to step outside and see this kind of scene, thank you for capturing it for us.

This is a lovely portrait of a young deer. There are so many positive attributes to this image. For one you have caught him with eye catch , this is a term used often and means he is looking at us and we can peer into his "soul" too. They say that if the eyes are sharp all other little sins are instantly forgiven. Well you don't have any other little sins for your focus is good showing detail of fur and his environment. Let me guess f11?

Your crop is considered and well handled with space above and at the sides and although your pov is "belly button" it is appropriate. A good idea is to strive to come down to eye level for that way we viewers get engaged at a deeper level.

You colour palette is vibrant and luscious and I'm tempted to say that the green might be a bit overpowering , you do not mention in the description on how you processed this image. It is a good idea to do that because the more serious reviewers can give you helpful suggestions.

A portrait format is exactly what this shot needs and you nailed it.

Lovely and dare I say....he is really really handsome and your title does justice to your presentation.

I am very fond of wildlife photos and this one is very enjoyable to view.
Nice sharp focus, lovely colours and great lighting.
I like the expression as the animal looks inquisitively at the camera.
Well done!

Thanks so much for your great review- I am blessed that many of our deer are so used to us that I can get quite close to them! :)
