This is absolutely brilliant! The fixed gaze immediately draws the eye and the clarity of the feathers against the subdued background has ensured this image demands ones attention. A superb photograph - a pleasure to view.

The detail on those feathers are outstanding with great white balance control natural but rich saturation on the colour, pin sharp focus and clarity.
The tight frame draws the viewer straight to those intense eyes. Good luck in the contest

This take is so sharp with beautiful natural looking color so realistic I can smell the bird.
The DOF is perfection. All of the bird from tip of beak down to the feathers detail is so sharp.
Your camera technique is fine enough to sharply display the brown markings in the white feathers.
But the eyes - The most calculating gaze I have ever seen.

WOW!!! This is the finest portrait of a Bald Eagle I have ever seen.
This take is so sharp with beautiful natural looking color so realistic I can smell the bird.
The DOF is perfection. All of the bird from tip of beak down to the feathers detail is so sharp.
Your camera technique is fine enough to sharply display the brown markings in the white feathers.

Thank you! I appreciate your really nice remarks and the high rating. I used a fast shutter speed because he was moving around and I didn't want any motion blur and he was in full sun so I didn't have to compensate the lighting.

I have always loved eagles. I love the way you captured the strength and poise of this beautiful creature. I love the way the brown feathers folder beneath the white feathers. The close up allows one to see the actual softness of the feathers. Great work. Thank you for sharing!
