This really is a beautiful photo. The light and the shadows have made this a dramatic and realistic composition...as if viewing it through your eyes.. Excellent!
Your framing is perfect for the reclining large parent and the smaller cub. The white dried, sandy colored dirt is moving diagonally through your frame with the darkest upper frame being the depth of the background. Perfect!
Your colors of the lions are perfectly saturated in the warmth of the sunlight. It appears to be either shaded or an evening sun..
Framing has left more space of the left for the youngster to move into..PERFECT! Love it!
Thank you for sharing! What an experience to be in this place in real time... eh?

Sometimes you just can't be bothered. Dad is in a regal position taking a rest and letting the world pass by. Good use of existing light to highlight these lions. Interesting shot. Well seen and taken.

Wonderful wild life scene. As such it is impossible to control lighting. The is not much detail in the male lion's body. Where it exists, the back lighting is cool

Must be really amazing to see these beautiful animals in a natural habitat. Lighting and clarity are good. I might have cropped a bit more on the left side, but composition is good. How close can ye get to the animals? Looks pretty close to me unless you used a longer lenses. Nice work and good luck with it.

many thanks fritz;
a very big mistake: you always need to leave enough space in the direction an animal is walking or just looking

I'll remember that.

This is a gorgeous nature shot of the lion and young lioness and nice is the interaction and strong bond between the two animals. A good title and storytelling with your image. Good camera techniques and nice stop action shot. Your sharp focus bring us right into this photo with good lighting and details. Your photo is also framed perfectly. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing!

A great wildlife shot taken here, I like the image of the young lion creeping around dad so not to disturb him, great light on the fur and lions Mane. Natural colour, great focus and clarity, a rare capture that not everybody would be able to see. Thanks for sharing this . Good luck in the contest. A winner in my book.

I love lions. This is a great shot. I would have liked to have seen it a little closer up. Dad knows you are there. Just teaching you to be independent. Very nice. Good luck in the contest!

This is a wonderful capture of these two beautiful lions. The clarity and detail are excellent and the pose of the male is so appealing. Definitely appropriate for the contest.
One of my favorite cats, this was a real pleasure to view father and daughter. Best of luck in the competition.
