Photos like this make me want to get on the road and see some new landscapes!
Likes: subject matter, lines leading the eye to the tree, muted colors
Suggestions: use portrait framing so tree is not cut off, up the contrast to show off the cool textures

Very many thanks for your nice review! I tried to fit the whole of the tree in but could not do it sensibly!

It has to be gnarly and ugly in order to survive in this stark landscape. Very much looking like deserted land. Good composition. Well framed. Image sharpness is good. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

Nice landscape shot. I like how you captured the colors of this. The tree adds a lot of character to it. It is interesting how you cut off the top of it.

Cool shot here. I love the desert and the unique landscape and colors. Good focus and color saturation. Would be a Six scene if the tree was not cut off on the top. Nice work ~ Steve

Nice desert colors. I would have liked to see the top of the tree also. In my opinion it would make a better image. I hate when someone says go back and get another image of the tree. Just as if it were next door. Maybe next time you are in that neighborhood get another image of the tree if it still there. Good luck

Nik, where is the top of that tree, in heaven? :)

Love the tones here showing your desert setting.

The off center of the tree is a nice touch as it looks more balanced this way. Thanks for sharing.

You have definitely found yourself a really gnarly tree.

Many different roots all over the place. It is an interesting photo.

Most people probably would've just walked on by. You made the right choice.

Nice piece, thanks for sharing.

Love the soft colors of this that harmonize well together. The low angle looking up at the gnarled tree works nicely. Sharp focus and nice details in the roots, tree and foreground.
