Hi Mark thanks for sharing your awesome painting serenity. . love the silhouette figures of horse and man. some thing very serene about using a silhouette against such a vibrant background of rich red orange hue.. Gives a soothing emotion to the scene and most appealing to the eye. I like the closeness of the man and his horse. a pleasing touch.. shows the connection they share and adds to the appeal of your scene. The horizon line in the centre of the picture provides a good break between sky and water and makes the eye focus on the golden hue above. good use of brush strokes to create a feeling of movement in the distant sky. The horizon also gives good depth of field to the painting. Excellent profile details on the man and horse. . Like the hat he is wearing. a nice cowboy image for sure. I can almost feel him thinking as he sits and stares into the beauty beyond. thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest. Mark. a pleasure to review. cheers mel

I'm glad you have enjoyed this. The only thing is this is not a painting. Heck I don't use any art medium..mine is an office medium which is sharpie and Bic pens. Been working with this medium for a half century now. This would be considered a drawing. Thanks for the awesome review.

Eye catching image, i Iike the strong silhouette of the cowboy and his horse against the red sunset, nice detail in the sky creates warmth and atmosphere, I like the emotion of the lone cowboy with his faithful friend going off into the sunset. Nice work.
Good luck in the contest.

This is something different by you. A good entry for the contest. Shadow cowboy and horse look into the sunset. He looks cold like maybe his hands are inside his coat to keep them warm. Nice composition. Well framed. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

Not different just a touch of wide range of topics that I draw. You know I have done over 1000 drawings in the last 6 years here on FAR and the flower cartoons are only 300 of that..wink. thanks for the great review

I rather like this one Mark. Dark shapes against of all color combinations, pink overshadowed by orange with horizontal yellow lightening strikes. I would have never thought of that combination. It is absurd, striking and beautiful. Reasons for my five star vote.

Mark,
A beautiful profile portrait in silhouette of both the Cow boy in his Stetson beside his beloved horse as they watch the sun setting in a sky that is in "Flames" over the desert.. Created with an artist's eye for composition, very skilful draftsmanship, beautiful choice, blending & application of your colours.

Fantabulous solid silhouette creation.

Vivid imagery against a fiery skyline.
Visually appealing.

The horse stands out on its own without being left behind by the cowboy's pointed nose.

Here's one excellent example that not all grainy presentation is noisy... ;-))

Up close and personal.
I like the depth created by the subjects and the horizon.

Thanks for sharing...
